Another missed period and a completely unexpected surprise….we’re pregnant again! Baby #4. This is for sure the boy right Jesus?!
My pregnancy was smooth sailing like all the others. Thank you, God. Although I did want a boy, this time I went into it knowing it was another girl and it was. Bring it on baby girl! We do this!! No tears this time. I did secretly go to a second ultrasound and get a 4d check just to be sure. SMH
At this point, we had no idea what to name her. We had run out of names to Morph. One day Indi just stuck with me. And it was so special because Indiana AKA Indy was where Jason and I fell in love and where I went to college and met some of my best friends. Reese was my favorite middle name so there we had it. Indi Reese. Due March 2nd!
Since I had my last 2 babies weeks early and this was the fourth baby I just knew she was coming early. I was hoping for a leap year baby on February 29th.
The major freeway that takes us from home to the hospital was being closed down for major construction that weekend so we did a little mini beach vacay with the family and celebrated our anniversary as well. It was so nice. We got the perfect rental on the beach and enjoyed the next few days. But Indi never came.
So many days I anticipated her and just knew she was coming but nope, she was on her own time. I even passed my due date by 2 days.
I went to bed on the 3rd and woke up out of my sleep knowing it was time. Contractions were in motion at about 3:30 am. I got in the shower and had to pause and hunch over from time to time because they were coming on strong. I called my photographer because I didn’t want her to miss my birth pictures. I was so excited about them! Its years later, pictures are everything now so I have tons of pictures of Indi’s pre, during and post-labor experience. But to be fair to the other girls I won’t post them all here.
I then did my makeup so I would be camera ready. At this time Jason is freaking out and rushing me. He doesn’t want to have to drive 99 miles per hour again.
I woke up Jastel and told her to feel my belly mid contraction. She was half asleep and had no idea what I was saying. But she had been wondering how you know it’s time and what contractions feel like so I wanted to show her.
We drove 98 miles per hour because labor was in full swing. For a moment I thought we needed to divert plans and find a local hospital but we were both determined to get there.
When we arrived they brought me a wheelchair and Jason rolled me in on all 4s. They wanted to take me into the screening room to see if I was in active labor but I quickly shut that down and said this is it. Take me in. Sure enough, they checked me and I was 9 1/2 cm dilated already. We were just waiting for the Doc.
I checked in the hospital at about 10 to 5 and had her at 5:37
When she came out she didn’t cry. It freaked me out. I asked what was wrong and realized she wasn’t breathing. The cord had been wrapped around her neck and while they brought her back to life, I called out and prayed to Jesus to make her breathe. Finally, she did and my heart was so relieved. My God, that was such a scary moment in time.
I remember as soon as they handed her to me I looked at Jason and said, “this can’t be our last baby.” She was just too precious and I couldn’t imagine not having a moment like this ever again.
