I have always wanted to be for everyone. Between being a people pleaser and a connector/promoter, I want everyone to be happy and included.
But in the deep quest I am in to figure out how to serve people and get them the BEST life results, I have found that this philosophy isn’t working in my world of mentorship and ironically, it isn’t working out in life either.
Let me explain…
Being a people pleaser takes us out of our authenticity.
Authenticity is your greatest attribute. Like it is legit the whole reason you are alive. To BE YOU!
I used to always take pride in myself on being a chameleon. I could mold to whatever circle I was hanging with. This is a gift… don’t get me wrong, but the curse was that I was lonely. I could not find my tribe. I have my life long besties, but I felt like I was not deeply connecting with people for the most part.
It wasn’t until I started pulling back the layers of my people pleasing tendencies and desire to be friends with everyone that I started realizing we attract our tribe when we are 100% ourselves.
Some will be down with you and many will not. But you will be more happy and fulfilled when you are completely yourself and not living for the approval of others.
I am getting more specific about the types of people I want to be surrounded with: Driven, fun, open minded, deep thinkers, financially free, dreamers, doers, love to wear cute clothes, values family, can sit thru dinner and drinks and talk for hours on end, loves Jesus, throws the F bomb here and there, passionate, has a nasty-freaky side (PAUSE: LOL. not for me. just for my enjoyment and learning. I love learning new things to try and maybe not to try but just bemused by others), thick skin, not overly sensitive or quick to anger, optimistic, generous and ultimately, AUTHENTIC. She has got to be authentic. Living unapologetically in her power and giving her gifts away to the world. Those are my people. And those who aren’t in that space are falling away. I am okay with that. That doesn’t make them bad or me wrong. It just makes us all happier!
I share this with you to say that you get to be yourself. That is part of what you are yearning for. Go deep. Be real and watch your relationships thrive!
Who is your person? Write a list. Be honest with yourself and start attracting your tribe!
